The discounts I post are often about transport or travel, these are sometimes "blink and you'll miss them" so keep a look out and maybe I'll bump into you on an incredibly good value rail or coach journey or a great hotel. My contribution to road safety is to be a life-long non-driver so I tend to notice good transport deals.
Here's my favourite moneysaving tip, which at first I thought was too good to be true
until Martin Lewis at MoneySavingExpert recommended it:
I just had £55 for arranging AA of £129 so that was my highest amount so far.
Many of us buy online, so just remember to log into the TopCashback site first - I've earned £802 so far which paid for a good few bills and treats.
Charities are also listed as an option to donate some of your cashback so you can help a favourite cause as well. You do need to be patient as it takes up to two or three months to get the money from some purchases - and for £802 I'm happy to wait.....
Most large companies, hotel and travel firms are on there, and it is especially good for buying things like RAC or AA, insurance, phones and hotel/travel bookings.
Talking of charities, I'm a member of Compassion In Care and campaign for "Edna's Law" to protect whistleblowers - too late for poor Edna and others who have suffered and died due to abuse and neglect in care homes but the good news is that there are thousands of excellent care staff and we need to improve quality of care by supporting them and ensuring they have legal protection when they raise concerns. Too often anyone who does will lose their job - as I know from experience. I sometimes do "court companion and notetaker" work for whistleblowers at employment tribunals.
