Terrorising Gran Gets Asbo at 80!

Eighty-year-old Edna Beck who lives in Hove in East Sussex has been terrorising her neighbours for seven years with racist threats and abuse. She delights in making people miserable and uncomfortable. But now events have caught up with her and she has finally received an asbo for her bad behaviour.

Ms Beck who walks with the help of a zimmer frame, has terrified people with her malicious campaigns. Frequently, shouting Heil Hitler and goose stepping and making nazi salutes outside her block of flats.

At Brighton Magistrates' Court it was heard that Ms Beck has not been found to have any mental health problems or Alzheimer's. In total, Brighton and Hove Council received 49 complaints from neighbours and on average have been dealing with three anti-social problems every week for some years.

Ms Becks misdemeanors included ranting and raving for up to six hours, throwing her underwear out of the window, threatening to punch people. Once she even stole and hid a neighbour's post and then defaced it.

Mike Tyler prosecuting for the Council said: "When challenged she treats her behaviour as a joke and relishes in the misery she causes. She has left neighbours depressed and suicidal."

However, Ms Beck defended her position saying she was just a normal woman and "everyone can tell you that."
