SNH Retirement Services Nominated for Excellence

In a world where news abounds of low quality and even complete lack of care in retirement homes, it is refreshing and encouraging to find agencies like South Northants Homes (SNH) Retirement Services. SNH is in the final round of the UK Housing Awards for its achievement of level A in the Quality Assessment Framework. This is the highest level that you can achieve in this sector.

SNH provides homes for more than 800 older people in nine retirement schemes and bungalow accommodation in South Northamptonshire. The award nomination is the second the association has received this month.

Jayne Roycroft, the Manager or Retirement Homes, said: “This is wonderful news. It is a great recognition of how hard all the staff has worked to improve the quality of service for our older customers.”

When SNH took ownership of the service in 2008, its rating was only D. But with hard work and dedication, the association reached the A level in record time.

Today, the association offers both high quality homes for older customers and a number of other services as well. These include aids and adaptations, home visits, IT sessions, and social activities, all designed to help residents maintain contact with the world and society around them.
