The Queen has long been known for espousing modern technology and has a collection of technological devices of her own. Now having seen her grandsons Princes William and Harry with their Apple tablets she has put in a request to her staff to purchase one for her.
Both William and Harry have, it is reported, given their grandma a crash course in the elegant iPad 2. Recently they have taken their new tablets to the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
A royal insider source for The Sun said: "The Queen has a mobile phone as well as the iPods, so an iPad is the logical progression. She thinks it will be great to keep her entertained on all the long trips she has to make."
The newspaper source added: She was particularly taken with how easy it was to use, the large screen and how light it was. For a woman of her age, she is very switched on. It was only a matter of time before she asked someone to go and get her one."
Apparently, concluded the source, "the princes think it is hilarious. They love the fact that their gran wants an iPad and think she's really cool."
