Phyllis Lader, a 90-year-old great-grandmother, has recently proved that it’s never too late to change your life, according to an article in The Jewish Chronicle Online. More than 30 years after completing her original application form, Mrs. Lader decided that it was finally time for a move to Israel.
After her original decision to emigrate from the UK 30 years ago, Phyllis changed her mind to stay close to her family. Now, with more than 60 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she has decided that it was time for another change of heart.
Mrs. Lader explained: "I have reached a time in my life when I want more quality," she said. "I have lots of family who live in Israel now and have always been Israel-minded. I will miss my family here and tea and chocolate but that is it. I'm very excited to go."
At her advanced age, Mrs Lader will be the oldest person to leave the UK for another country. She will leaver her home in Finchley to live in an English-speaking retirement village. Her new home in Israel can be found between Netenya and R’anana.
Mrs. Lader still has the first application form she completed three decades ago. Although she will miss her home in the UK, she is very excited to finally be able to live in a country she had always loved.
