With waiting lists for new age defying creams now common, science is being used seriously in the attempt to defy age. There are many new creams on the market which all claim to work: do they?

Caudalie Premier Cru The Cream is inspired by wine with natural active ingredients from grapes and vine stalk sap. It claims to "tackle loss of firmness, wrinkles, dark spots and dryness, and leave skin glowing." It is priced at £95. Lancôme Absolue Precious Cells at above average price of £118 help to restore the regenerative ability of cells. The company claims that 30 per cent improvement was revealed in overall signs of ageing after two months of daily use. Finally, and priced at about £80, from America comes 3Lab Perfect Neck Cream with its Super “h” Serum, with a bioengineered growth hormone for firming skin at a cellular level.
