Cavity Insulation - Free cavity wall insulation for over 70's
So if you're over 70 living in a rented or owned dwelling in England or Wales you're entitled to free cavity and/or loft insulation.
Currently there are approximately nine million homes without insulation in their cavity walls and, in England alone, around 40 per cent of homes have either no loft insulation, or less than 100 mm of heat-retaining material in place.
By taking up the free offer to have your property insulated it is estimated you will save approximately £90 - £110 on heating costs per year.
If you're not over 70 you may be entitled to free cavity insulation if you're in receipt of one of the following benefits:
- Income support
- Housing benefit
- Council tax benefit (not including single occupancy reduction)
- Income-based jobseeker's allowance
- Attendance allowance
- Disability living allowance
- War disablement pension (which must include mobility supplement or constant attendance allowance)
- Disablement pension credit (which must include constant attendance allowance)
- Child tax credit (with a household income of less than £15,592)
- Working tax credit (with a household income of less than £15,592)
- State pension credit
If you are over 70 this is a free grant, however you are under no obligation to proceed with home insulation after completing the form below.
